Aww, cute!

Cordel has the Leap Frog "word whammer" that has all these magnetic letters. I have them sticking to my front door cause I hate having magnets in my kitchen. I went in the front room one day to find this cute little message from him...

In case you don't read "toddler" that says "Mom, Love you!"

Titanic!

We went up to Idaho Falls on Saturday to see the Titanic exhibit at the museum of Idaho. It was SO cool! To actually lay eyes on some of the stuff that was on that ship--- I can't begin to imagine what it must have been like. We had nine, yes I said NINE, kids with us, so we didn't get to read and look as much as we wanted, but it still was an awesome experience. At the very beginning, we were given cards with the "stats" of a passenger that was on board. At the end, there is this huge wall that lists all the passengers. So, you could look up the person's name on your card and discover whether or not that person survived or perished. It really emphasized just how many people died on that tragic night. I was very impressed with the entire exhibit and recommend you go if you have the chance!

There was no photography allowed in the museum, but here are the few we did take.

In the lobby of the museum. (Nine of ten grandkids of my Mom's!)

Outside the museum, all the kids plus my Mom, Sister, Aunt, and Grandma! Oh, and Kyler's little friend flat Stan, too! My Aunt Lezlie's grandson Kyler is reading the Flat Stan books in his 2nd grade class, so he sent "Flat Stan" (a little boy made of paper...heehee) to her and she was suppose to do fun things with him, take pictures and send him back after a few days. To date, Flat Stan has gone horse back riding, hot tubbing, 4 wheeling, and to the museum!! LOL!! You can't see him very well, but Lezlie is holding him up in front of my sister...

A little game of Kindness

I thought that this would be fun, so...

It has also been called 'Pay it forward'. So. . . here's the idea. Be one of the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post and you will be the lucky recipient of a handmade gift from me some time this year. (I know one year is a long time to wait, but that is going to make it even better, right?) Now here is the catch, you have to post the same thing on your blog and do the same for 3 lucky people. GOOD LUCK! This is going to be a fun thing to try!

An Anniversay Suprise!

There was a "knock, knock, knock" at my door yesterday and I opened it up to these amazing flowers!! My cutie husband sent them to me for our 7 year anniversary! Usually we keep things pretty low key because we have a number of celebrations all in a row at this time of year, so by the time our anniversary rolls around, we're pretty partied out. But for some reason, he decided to surprise me this year! It has a number of my favorite flowers (thanks to my good friends and former employers at Buds and Bloomers) including Star Gazer Lilies and Stock. My house smells like a floral shop, which if you've ever read my "ten things I love" over to the left, you would know that that is a very good thing!!

Tinkerbell Party!!

Sydnie turned 2 on March 9th and we have an awesome "TINK" party for her! We sent out invites that said "Think of the happiest things, it's the same as having wings! Come fly with us to Sydnie’s flitterific 2nd Birthday Party! The magic starts at (time) on (date) at Pixie Hollow, Neverland (address). You provide the Faith and Trust, We’ll supply the Pixie Dust!" (and we put glitter "pixie dust" in the invitation!) Upon arrival, all the children were "transformed" into a pixie or a pirate. Girls got wings, wands, and pixie dust. Boys got eye patches, hooks, and pixie dust. All the children got to choose a (temp) tatoo! They all thought it was very cool! We had Disney's Tinkerbell movie playing. We didn't play any structured games cause Syd is only 2, but they all had fun pretending to be pixie's and pirates. I don't think I have ever seen anything so cute as a bunch of precious little girls running around with pixie wings!! I love it!

Birthday Bash

I happen to be one of those Mom's who generally do the "BIG" Birthday Party for my kids. Now, I don't go TOTALLY overboard with bounce house rentals, hired professional clowns, and extravagant gift bags for all the children. I do, however, generally have a large gathering of adults as well as children, mostly family, who I believe to be an important part of my kids lives. I always have a theme and try to make everything go along with it, including the hand made invitations, goodie bags cake, and decorations. Of course, the older my kids get, the more activities we do. My daughters 2nd Birthday Party is tomorrow and her "theme" is Tinkerbell! I know I am going to want to blog about, but first, I wanted to tell you about Cordel's 4th Birthday we had back in September. He had a Dinosaur Party and all the kids got to be paleontologists for the day! The invitation read "Don't be extinct!! Please join Cordel and other expert paleontologists for a dinosaur birthday expedition on (date) at the Howell Cave and Quarry located at (address) Excavation begins at (time) R.S.V.P Cordel's extinct parents at (phone #) You'll be sure to uncover a DINO-MITE time! I told them that dinosaur bones had been found recently in our backyard and we were going to try to find some more! We had a "DINO DIG" where the kids dug for fossils (which I made by making impressions of plastic dinos into coffee ground play-doh) and I told them briefly about why we find dino bones and fossils, and why dinos are no longer on Earth. Of course, one of the "theories" is a massive volcanic eruption, right? So, we had our own volcanic eruption right there in the back yard!! The kids thought it was so great! Then we matched up the fossils they found with the plastic dinos that had made the fossil. The party was a total success!! We had a great time! Here are some pictures...
